How much money is required to open a Value Checking account?

If you’re already a member of Oregon State Credit Union: You’ll need a one-time minimum deposit of $25 to open a Value Checking account. After your account is open, there is no minimum balance requirement and no monthly account service fee.

If you are not yet a member of Oregon State Credit Union you’ll need two things:

a one-time minimum deposit of $25 to open your Value Checking account

a Basic Savings account with a minimum deposit of $5. All members must open a Basic Savings account and maintain a $5 minimum balance. See the table below for details or learn more about how to join Oregon State Credit Union here.

Are there fees to use ATMs?

At ATMs owned by Oregon State Credit Union, transactions are free and unlimited. Plus, our members can access their accounts at more than 30,000 ATMs nationwide through the CO-OP network.

At CO-OP network ATMs not owned by Oregon State Credit Union, members get six transactions per month free of charge. For seven or more transactions per month, members may be charged a $1.50 fee per transaction depending on their Member Merits category.

Is there an age requirement to open a Value Checking account?

To open a Value Checking account you must be 18 or older and have valid, government-issued identification.

Our Teen Checking is for members 17 years old and younger and is a great option with the same benefits of a Value Checking account, including no monthly service fees. To open a Teen Checking account, teen members are required to have a parent or legal guardian as a joint owner of the account until the member reaches age 18. Learn more about Teen Checking here.
